Garden and Gun Jubilee

My Dress, my vest (size petite xs), my boots // Chapel’s vest and bow

I had my sights set on attending this year’s Garden and Gun Jubilee after seeing posts of the event on social media last year.  We bought our tickets as soon as they went on sale this summer, thinking that it would be our first trip with baby girl.  (Little did we know, that she would have visited Chattanooga TN, Athens GA and Highlands NC already!)  Not only did we want to attend the Jubilee, but we also look for any excuse to visit Charleston, SC – so, why not?!

We packed our bags and drove to Charleston for the weekend.  We had the best time!  The Jubilee was held outdoors at Charles Towne Landing and the weather could not have been better.  There were so many amazing vendors and live music.  We will definitely go back next year!

We love you, Charleston!  And events like G +G Jubilee make us love you even more!

A couple of our favorite spots that are a must for your next visit to Charleston:

Black Tap Coffee (3 times!) – where I had a latte sweetened with sweet potatoes!

The Park Cafe– delicious brunch, cutest atmosphere and we were seated immediately!

Gift Guide: Green Beauty Lover

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

I’ve rounded up some favorites that would make AMAZING gifts for any green beauty lover.  Luxury skincare and makeup sets – there’s something for everyone!!

Vintner’s Daughter– One of the best skincare products that I’ve ever tried.  This serum was created with active botanicals – and when they say active, they mean it!  I can literally feel it working and it has given me the smoothest skin!  If you can only buy one green beauty product this Christmas, this is it!!

Maya Chia The Eye Achiever – Hands down, best eye product that I’ve tried.  I didn’t think anything could combat these new mama circles, but it has.  Hallelujah for not looking like a zombie in the morning!

Little Barn Apothecary Aloe + Rosewater Balance Mist – Rosewater is my absolute favorite beauty product.  It is so versatile and something that I really see a difference with. I use it to apply my foundation more smoothly (by wetting my foundation brush), as a moisturizing pick-me-up throughout the day, and on top of my makeup to add glow!  This one is my current fave.

Limited Edition Liquid Lipstick Trio – The Nude Trio dries matte.  Very on trend and versatile.  I love the color selections you get with these limited edition kits.

Color Intense Lip Set – Gorgeous, intense color for the holidays and beyond.  And can we say packaging?  Any woman would love to have this set or it can be split up into multiple gifts!

Flawless in Five – A complete makeup overhaul.  I love every single one of these products.  This gift is great for the woman who keeps saying she ‘needs new makeup.’  It’s an entire new look at such a great price!  The concealer is my favorite!

Vitamin B Cleansing Oil – I haven’t met anyone who doesn’t love this product.  It is a gentle cleanser that does all of the work for you.  No need for a makeup remover and a cleanser – it does both!  And because it’s an oil, it doesn’t leave your skin feeling dry.  This is a hero product for me.

Osmia Detox Mask – Obsessed with this mask but it gives me RESULTS.  I could literally feel my skin changing.  It’s on my Christmas list and I will be a little bummed if I don’t find it under the tree!  This is a new skincare necessity in my book!

The Detox Market Best of Green Beauty Box – Ok, this one was also on my rookie list.  But, I think everyone needs it!  So many fun things to try!!

RMS Luminizer Holiday Gift Set – Glowy skin isn’t just for the holidays.  This would be a makeup bag staple all year long!  Need.

Ruffle Sweaters

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

I’m snowed in today, so I am determined to get ALL of my Christmas shopping done online.  Pretty lofty goals.  Especially when I always get sidetracked with online shopping.  I’m like a fish..just chasing all of the shiny things.

I am pretty obsessed with my new ruffle sleeve sweater (under $30).  It is so super warm and thick..but not bulky.  I feel like I struggle so much with sweaters.  They are rarely flattering on me.  But this one.  This one is gold.  And SUCH a good price!  I linked a few others that I love below.  All under $30!!

SUCH a cute grey ruffle sweatshirt.  NEED.

Pink and a little shimmery.  I’m thinking New Years Day…

Off. the. shoulder. goodness.

Cutest pink ruffle sweatshirt.

These sleeves.  This one is $39.99 but SO good.

This maternity one.

Another maternity!

Gift Guide: The Green Beauty Rookie

2018 sounds like a great time to get started with GREEN BEAUTY!  It can be so overwhelming to overhaul your makeup bag and skincare routine (not to mention your overall home…), so I usually recommend baby steps.  A lip product is a great place to start (because you are literally eating what’s on your lips).  Then, just replacing products when you are ready.

You could get the Best of Green Beauty Box from The Detox Market and get a lot of amazing products in one swoop!

The box has a $310+ value, get the box for only $149!

What’s In the Box?
ODACITÉ Green Ceremony Cleanser | full size 5 oz | $55 value
JOSH ROSEBROOK Hydrating Accelerator | travel size 2 oz | $20 value
MV SKINCARE Rose Soothing and Protective Moisturizer | full size 2.4 oz | $135 value
THE BEAUTY CHEF Collagen Inner Beauty Boost | travel size 3.38 oz | $16 value
RMS BEAUTY Vintage Cake Liner | full size | $24 value
LILY LOLO Natural Vegan Mascara | full size | $20 value
SOAPWALLA Sensitive Skin Deodorant Cream | full size | $16 value
RAHUA Shampoo + Conditioner | travel size set | $16.50 value
DAVIDS Natural Toothpaste | full size | $7.95 value
It’s seriously such an amazing deal!  You can even get 10% OFF when you sign up for their emails! Green beauty rookies and veterans alike would love to see this set under the tree!
A neutral eye palette is also a great introductory gift into the world of green beauty.  This palette reminds me of the shades on the original Urban Decay Naked Palette.  If your gift recipient has owned a Naked Palette in the past, this one is a great clean replacement for it!
For stocking stuffers, I love this lip + cheek gift set or a nail polish (don’t forget the remover)!
Of course, you can never go wrong with a subscription box, like this one from The Detox Market.  It’s the gift that keeps on giving!  With the Detox Box, you get:

I think I would be the happiest girl on Christmas morning, if this was under my tree!  It’s such a great way to get a jumpstart with green beauty- and gives you something to look forward to every single month!

Happy Gifting!

Shop Small Saturday

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

One of my favorite things about the Green Beauty industry is that when you shop the brands, you are supporting small businesses.  These brands have been created from passion for health and transparency in our beauty products.  Not only have the founders carefully selected ingredients to include in their products, but there are some powerful products out there!  I love everything about it.

Here are some of the sales that we can take advantage of for our holiday shopping, while also supporting small businesses!

Fig and Flower is one of my favorite shops, located right around the corner from my house!   You can shop so many of the products that I have posted and loved lately!  They are offering 10% off of $150 or less, 20% off orders over $150 and 25% off $300!  Some of my favorites from Fig and Flower include: Lily Lolo Pure Indulgence Eye PaletteOsmia Active Gel TonerOsmia Nectar Vital Rose Drops

The 100% Pure Sale is still going on!  Once you spend $45 in full-priced products, $10 deals are unlocked! I stocked up on my favorite BB Cream and Mascara!

I have been using The Eye Achiever from Maya Chia Beauty and LOVING it!! It has really helped my dark circles (new mama!) and fine lines around my eyes. It also helps my eye makeup to go on super smooth!  It’s such a great product- I recommend it for anyone and everyone!  It is a MUST for your Christmas list and makes a great gift!  I am also dying to try the highlight of the day.   Credo Beauty is offering a FREE 7-piece gift with every $100 Purchase!  Use the code:  EVERYTHINGNICE to get your gift!  I also love the One Love Organics Vitamin B Cleanser and Ecobrow Defining Wax.

You can also find The Eye Achiever on sale here with at least $100 purchase.

$10 Beauty Deals

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

If you have been following me for a while, you know about my love for 100% Pure!  So many of their products have been staples in my makeup bag for a while now!  I am certainly stocking up today because so many of my favorites are just TEN DOLLARS!!!

BB Cream – I wear the shade Aglow.  I have been obsessed with this product for a long time now.  The downside is that there’s only 3 shades.  The upside is that they are full coverage, dewy perfection.  Not to mention, SPF!!

Creamy Long Last Liner – I love the shade Blackest.  I have had my pencil forever and it has not dried out.  WIN.  It glides on super smoothly.  WIN.  It is pure black (not some greyish-blueish black).  WIN.  $10.  WIN.

Maracuja Mascara – All day, every day.  Literally.  The only mascara that I wear.  And it smells like blueberries soooo..

Brightening Night Balm – I have the Retinol balm and it is SO GOOD.  I imagine this one is too…

Lip Caramel in Red Velvet – I am pretty sure that I need this crimson color for the holidays.  The Lip Caramels are super hydrating.

Yerba Mate Mist SPF 30 – Just in case the Mister decides to whisk me away for a tropical winter vacay…

I hope you enjoy these deals/steals as much as I do!!  You have to spend $45 in full price products to unlock the $10 deals.  (I recommend this palette!)  Placing my order now..

Haircare with Max Green Alchemy

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

There are only a few green haircare lines that have really worked for me and I have to say, I am really happy with this Max Green Alchemy Shampoo + Conditioner.  My scalp (and really all of my skin) tend to get really dry in the cold weather months.  Dry scalp comes with some less than desirable effects, but I tend to ignore my dry scalp because the conventional shampoos are so chemical-ridden.  Not to mention, they are not exactly good hair day tools.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

The Max Green Alchemy line has proven to help not only my scalp, but also the look and feel of my hair!  I am a huge fan!  I have had the softest hair lately and much less of the scalp itchy-ness.  The conditioner provides great, lightweight moisture too.

If that sounds anything like your hair needs, then I definitely recommend that you give this line a try!  (My beautiful, blonde husband agrees!)

Also.  It smells like a spa.

Soft hair.  Nourished scalp.  Spa time.

What else can we ask for in a shampoo and conditioner?

Let me know what you think!

Osmia Organics

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

I love when my fave local green beauty store, Fig & Flower, hosts events with their clean beauty brands.  It’s pretty amazing/dangerous that I live in the same neighborhood as this great boutique that carries some of the best brands in clean beauty.  I literally walked out of my front door and around the corner the other night for an event with the founders of Osmia Organics and Clove + Hallow.  It was such a fun night- both founders shared the story behind their brands and why they are passionate about clean beauty.  They also got to show off their amazing products – we did facials with Osmia and played with all of the colors from Clove + Hallow!  I loved hearing the hearts and inspiration behind the brands.

I will certainly be posting my review of Clove + Hallow in the future, but I just HAD to share with you all immediately about the amazing skin that I woke up with yesterday from my facial with Osmia Organics!!  Sarah, the founder of Osmia, flew in from Colorado and led us through a complete skincare routine.  I had to maintain some serious self control to not leave with every single product I tried, but I did leave with a few and I cannot wait to tell you about them!

I had never even tried the brand before but I am most certainly a HUGE FAN now!  I woke up the next day to the smoothest skin that I have seen in a while.  I honestly forgot that my skin could look this good!  It was really nice to be able to look in the mirror and feel like I looked refreshed (which is extra amazing when you are a new mama), rather than seeing skin that lately, I was just trying to ‘accept.’

I left with three products, two purchases and a Lip Doctor that was a ‘gift with purchase’ at the event (and my husband has already claimed it as his own…).  I really wanted the complete skincare routine that I used that night, but I decided to leave with the products that most needed at home – moisturizers!  And the mask that I will absolutely get was sold out.

Here’s the complete line-up of what worked like magic for me:

  1. Cleanse with the Pumpkin Facial Soap – This soap removed my makeup and left my skin feeling smooth, not dry.
  2. Apply Detox Mask – Okay, I could literally feel this mask working.  I swear this is the reason my skin was so even and smooth the next day.  I will own this asap!  It’s best to use it once a week because it is so powerful!
  3. Next, I applied the Active Gel Toner – This is such a unique product!  I had never used a toner that was any other form than a liquid.  This toner was thick and dewy and did something magical when I put it on.  A toner is a middle step that preps your skin before a serum/moisturizer and makeup.  I loved the feel of this product.
  4. The last step was a pro move.  Sarah instructed me to mix the Purely Simple Face Cream (also available here) and the Nectar Vital Rose Drops. The face cream was so thick and luxurious.  And I’m obviously a sucker for anything with rose.  These two were the ones that came home with me.  My postpartum/cold weather/nursing mama skin needed some moisture badly.  These two products (especially mixed) do their job – they soak into the skin just enough to not be heavy, and add enough moisture that doesn’t leave me wanting for more.
  5. Just add a little Lip Doctor or Lip Repair and if you are anything like me, you will be feeling brand new!

I am so happy to have been introduced to not only an amazing brand, but I absolutely loved Sarah (the founder)’s approach to green beauty…and life in general.  She has created some truly beautiful products!  I hope you’ll try them and love them as much as I now do!

If you shop with Fig and Flower, make sure you join their Rewards Program.  I always prefer to shop when I can earn rewards towards future purchases!

xoxo, Lauren
